Historical parallels in ancient scrolls

Hello ladies, gentlemen, comrades and endless.

So, despite the fact that the topic is quite hackneyed, but there will not be a soreness of “revelations” like the Imperials – these are the Romans or the Mongols, and the orcs are Jews. Let’s go precisely because it does not lie on the surface.

Death of Uriel VI

So, I was, known to us by games, Uriel VII Cousin Uriel VI, about whom they said: “He conquered the Imperial Council,” that is, he returned all the fullness of power to himself. However, players familiar with his biographies, he was remembered more than he died. Namely, 120 years before the start of Oblivion’s events, Uriel VI just fell from the horse and broken his head.

Yes, I understand that those who are a little familiar with history will not at all be surprised at such a sad end of the emperor’s life. In general, the fall from the horse may not be the most common cause of the death of the monarchs, but definitely one of the common. Both the ancient rulers of the East and the Scottish kings, and even such famous personalities as Wilhem, (aka Guillaume), the conqueror and Genghis Khan himself accepted death from their horse.

However, still, my favorite example is the history of the two Juans. So, in the yard is the second half of the XIV century, Spain. More precisely, as such, the Spanish kingdom does not yet exist, now Aragon and Castile are located on its territory. So, with a difference of eight years, two boys are born in the kingdom of Aragon, and both at birth give the name Juan.

I won’t retell everything here, in the end, we gathered not for the sake of this, but only at some point, more precisely with the difference in a good ten years, do they both occupy the throne, one in Aragon, and the other in Castile. So it has already happened that before that, no one under the name of Juan ruled by Aragon, nor Castile. And so it turns out that the same time, in two neighboring kingdoms, two people are sitting on the throne, both of whom are now called Juan I.

Juan I King of https://nongamstopsites.uk/ Castile (1356 – 1390)

Juan I hunter King Aragon (1350 – 1396)

They died both a little short-lived until the 15th century, one in the 90th, year, the other in the 96th. Well, you already had to guess how, otherwise I would not have remembered them here. Juan I King of Castile, once went on an equestrian walk in the evening, which was the last for him. And Juan I King Aragon (it should be noted, nicknamed the hunter) during the next hunt, also unsuccessfully fell from the horse.

Talos cult

And this will not be about Talosokenters from Skyrim. Let’s go back to Morovind to the quest line of the Imperial Legion.

Captain Darius will direct Nerevarin to the gnisis to investigate the activities of a certain cult. As it turns out, there is a group of legionnaires, which is part of the mysterious cult of Talos, and a plotting murder of Uriel VII. In general, the quest itself is quite short, it is only necessary to find evidence of a conspiracy (that is, a letter) and deal with a pair of conspirators.

But we are interested in something else here, the fact is that, approximately, in the II-IV centuries of our era, among the legionnaires, the secret cult of Mitra was indeed widespread. Moreover, unlike the game, this phenomenon was far from local, and covered almost the entire empire. That is, at the moment, more than four hundred Mitreums have been discovered, in the territory of Britain to Syria, in addition to legionnaires, even emperors accepted dedication in mystery, among whom there was a commander.

But with all this, so far, in fact, we are not so much known to us about mitraism. How it turned out that about the existing several centuries, in one of the largest empires in history, religion, we know not so much? The fact is that the cult was quite reverent to its secrets, despite the fact that at the moment, almost half a hundred places of worship of Mitra were discovered, not a single record of the teaching itself, which, with a high probability, was transmitted exclusively verbally.

The Mitreums themselves are relatively small underground structures, unrealistic from the outside and modestly decorated inside, most often, were content with the image of the deity alone.

In general, when talking about the cult of Mitra, it is worth always making many reservations. That is, most likely, with its deep roots, Mitraism goes into the mystical practices of India, but this. The Roman legionnaires themselves adopted the practice of worshiping Mitra from Zoroastrianism, but this is not accurately. But what can be said with more confidence is that Mitra was revered as the god of the sun and warriors, but again, from region to region, many details in the form of the central deity of the cult could vary.

Eastern Imperial Trade Company

And I rather turned on this item for an even account. I suspect that most players, nevertheless, was able to catch a clear reference to the British and Dutch East India companies. Well, if not, then I am ashamed of you.

So, the well -known organization, closely associated with the state, which has monopoly rights to trade in certain goods and has its own army. I think here it is not even necessary to explain all the analogies.

In the Bloodmoon addition, the player will have the opportunity to equip for the company for Morderly, a trading settlement, which we will then see and in addition to Skyrim. In reality, for the entire time of its existence, the Dutch East India Company founded many settlements almost throughout the globe, some of them still exist, becoming real cities.

Moreover, in the same addition, Nerevarin will be issued as a reward for completing the tasks of the company’s fraction of the company. And yes, it was the Dutch East India Company that was the first joint-stock company in the world.

Although, of course, it is worth admitting that the trading company from the games is far from the power of real Dutch and, moreover, the British East India Trade associations. The British company, at some point, possessed an army of a quarter of a million bayonets, which surpasses the population of some modern states. And, by and large, it was the British East India Company, at one time, plunged the once powerful China into the insignificance, which is why he, in fact, was able to finally recover only after a century and a half.
